Former rebels in Oriental Mindoro province received a range of government services during a three-day summit that ended recently over the weekend.

The event, held in Roxas town, offered ex-insurgents access to health insurance, national ID processing, and housing assistance.

Officials also provided information on education and livelihood programs.

Oriental Mindoro Gov. Humerlito A. Dolor led the summit, which brought together various national and local agencies to support the former rebels’ reintegration.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government distributed financial aid through its Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.

The provincial government allocated additional funds for education and livelihood support for the ex-rebels’ families.

Agencies including the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Education (DepEd) presented programs aimed at helping the former insurgents rebuild their lives.

The summit manifests ongoing government programs to assist individuals who have surrendered to the Philippine government and left insurgency movement in the country.
