MIMAROPA region, including Mindoro, faces a week of erratic weather conditions, according to the latest forecast from the Philippine weather bureau.
As of Friday, the region experienced cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon, locally known as “Habagat”.
The weather is predicted to improve slightly over the weekend, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and chances of isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms forecast for September 7 and 8, 2024.
From September 9 to 11, MIMAROPA including Mindoro island will likely see partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with possibilities of localized rainshowers or thunderstorms.
However, the weather bureau warns of potential changes towards the end of the week.
A low pressure area (LPA) may approach the eastern boundary of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by September 12-13, 2024.
“The rainfall associated with the LPA and the Southwest Monsoon may shift southward,” PAGASA said, indicating that MIMAROPA and Mindoro could experience increased precipitation.
Residents and visitors are advised to stay updated with daily weather forecasts and prepare for possible weather changes, particularly towards the latter part of the week.
The weather bureau has pointed out that changes to this outlook will be communicated through daily public weather forecasts and advisories.
