Governor’s Cup 25U Intertown Basketball and Volleyball League, Season 2, Launches in Calapan City

The Governor’s Cup 25U Intertown Basketball and Volleyball League, Season 2, officially kicked off today (Aug. 24, 2024) at the Sentrong Pangkabataan in Barangay Sta. Isabel, Calapan City.

The sports competition is one of the key programs initiated by Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito “Bonz” A. Dolor and Vice Governor Ejay Falcon to showcase the athletic prowess of Mindoro’s youth.

“I hope to see an increasing number of talented players each year, as we aim to develop skilled athletes who can represent Mindoro in various competitions outside the province and make us proud,” Governor Bonz said in his message.

He also expressed gratitude to the municipal mayors who participated this year’s game.

The champion basketball team will receive a prize of P2,000,000.

The First Runner-up, Second Runner-up, and Third Runner-up will be awarded P200,000, P150,000, and P100,000 respectively, with a consolation prize of P50,000.

Governor Dolor has also allocated P50,000 for each participating team as assistance from the provincial government.

In the women’s volleyball category, the champion will receive P150,000, while the First Runner-up, Second Runner-up, and Third Runner-up will be awarded P100,000, P75,000, and P50,000 respectively. A consolation prize of P25,000 will also be given.

Among those who attended and supported the event were First Lady Hiyas Govinda Ramos-Dolor, Board Members Alely Casubuan, Idel Ilano, and Ahop Agate, Mansalay Mayor Totoy Maliwanag, Bulalacao Mayor Ernilo Villas, Pinamalayan Mayor Aris Baldos, Vice Mayor Rodel Magsino, Gloria Vice Mayor Rambo Alvarez, and other officials.

The event was organized by the Governor’s Office – Special Concerns Division.
