The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in MIMAROPA region has intensified its campaign to enforce road safety and uphold Republic Act No. 4136, as part of a broader effort led by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
LTO MIMAROPA, in coordination with the DOTr, on August 12, 2024 deployed teams to various areas in Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan to implement the “No Registration, No Travel” policy and conduct anti-colorum operations.
According to LTO MIMAROPA, a total of 352 violations were recorded, including 107 unregistered vehicles and 245 other violations.
The breakdown of unregistered vehicles includes six UVs, three trucks, nine motorcycles with sidecars, two tourist cars, one tricycle, and 86 motorcycles.
LTO MIMAROPA also reported that 144 top-used vehicles and 57 e-top used vehicles were apprehended during the operation.
Beyond enforcement, LTO MIMAROPA also distributed Information and Education Campaign (IEC) materials to the public, stressing the importance of road worthiness of motor vehicles and the “No Registration, No Travel” policy.
The campaign is part of DOTr’s efforts to improve road safety and reduce accidents in the region.
Areas of deployment included Adrialuna, Pinagsabangan, Paran, Canubing I, Gloria, Pinamalayan, Mansalay, Roxas, Tayamaan, Bagong Sikat, Brgy. Bantad, Odiongan, National Highway in Sta. Monica and San Manuel, and Brgy. Pangobilian.
LTO MIMAROPA is led by Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II, who is also part of the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) led by Secretary Jaime J. Bautista of the DOTr.
