The official Facebook page of Occidental Mindoro Governor Ed Gadiano has been hacked, his office announced Friday.
According to a statement from the governor’s office, unknown individuals gained unauthorized access to the page, prompting an investigation by the governor’s team in coordination with cybercrime authorities.
“We are taking this matter seriously and are working to restore access to the page,” the statement said.
In the meantime, the public can get updates on the provincial government’s programs and activities through the PIO Occidental Mindoro Facebook Page.
The governor’s office thanked the public for their understanding and continued support.
No further details were provided on the hacking incident, and it was unclear what information may have been compromised.
