Drug Suspect Arrested in Sablayan Police Buy-bust Operation

SABLAYAN, Occidental Mindoro: A suspected drug dealer was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Occidental Mindoro province, police said Sunday.

The operation, conducted by joint forces from Sablayan police and the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, took place in Sitio Guiron, Barangay Buenavista, Sablayan on August 3, 2024.

The suspect, identified only as “Rich”, 38, is a resident of Barangay Bubog, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. He is listed as a Street Level Individual (SLI) on Sablayan police watchlists.

Authorities seized approximately 0.30 grams of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) with an estimated street value of P3,000, along with the buy-bust money.

The suspect is currently in custody at Sablayan Municipal Police Station and faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation is part of an intensified anti-drug campaign by the Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, aimed at maintaining order and safety in the island province, officials said.
