CALAPAN CITY – Law enforcement authorities arrested a suspect in a joint anti-drug operation in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, on Friday night.
The suspect was taken into custody at around 8:48 p.m. in Barangay Bulusan, Calapan City, after a poseur buyer purchased a heat-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, or methamphetamine.
The suspect was found to be in possession of two more plastic sachets containing the same substance, with a total estimated weight of 0.325 grams, valued at PhP1,800 pesos.
The operation was conducted by the Calapan City Drug Enforcement Team, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Technical Support Company, 404th Brigade, Military Company, RSOG MIMAROPA, and ROT RMU 4B, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 4B.
The confiscated items, including the drug buy-bust evidence, were inventoried, photographed, and marked at the scene of the incident, witnessed by Barangay Councilor Aljhun G. Villena, media representative Dennis Pio C Nebrejo, National Prosecution Service representative Ernie Mercado, and the arrested suspect.
The suspect is currently under custody at the Calapan City Police Station, and a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 is being prepared against him.
