BANSUD, Oriental Mindoro — Four suspects were arrested yesterday in a raid on an alleged drug den in this southern Oriental Mindoro town, authorities said.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led the operation in Barangay Poblacion, Bansud on July 22, 2024. The raid was conducted in coordination with other law enforcement agencies.
PDEA identified the suspects as Imelda Causapin Bajeta, Kenneth Bajeta Mendoza, Andruiz Malapote and Manuelito Marinay. Bajeta is believed to be the maintainer of the drug den, according to officials.
Authorities seized approximately 54 grams of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, with an estimated street value of P189,000 pesos. Drug paraphernalia was also confiscated during the operation.
The suspects face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, including possession and sale of illegal drugs, as well as maintaining a drug den.
The operation is part of the ongoing efforts by government authorities to combat illegal drug activities across the country. PDEA continues to urge citizens to report suspected drug-related activities in their communities.
