CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — A new Mobile Primary Care Facility (PCF) was rolled out in Oriental Mindoro province over the weekend, bringing advanced healthcare services closer to residents.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Health (DOH) and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, aims to improve access to medical care in the province.
Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor led the blessing ceremony for the mobile clinic at the Provincial Capitol Complex. The event was attended by staff from the Provincial Health Office, headed by Dr. Cielo Angela A. Ante.
The PCF, essentially a medical bus, is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools including an X-ray machine, ultrasound, electrocardiogram (ECG), and laboratory equipment. These facilities will enable healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medical services to Mindoreños across the province.
Gov. Dolor emphasized the multifaceted impact of the mobile clinic, saying, “This bus will serve as a vehicle of health, livelihood, and love for our community.”
The introduction of the PCF is expected to significantly enhance healthcare delivery in Oriental Mindoro, particularly in remote areas where access to medical facilities is limited. By bringing diagnostic services directly to communities, the mobile clinic aims to facilitate early detection and treatment of various health conditions.
The national government aims to decentralize healthcare services and make them more accessible to rural populations. The DOH and the Office of the First Lady’s involvement underscores the national government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the country.
As the PCF begins its operations, it is expected to play a crucial role in Oriental Mindoro’s healthcare system, potentially serving as a model for similar initiatives in other provinces, according to the DOH. (source: PHO Oriental Mindoro)
