Philippine anti-narcotics agents dismantled a drug den and arrested six suspects in a raid in Occidental Mindoro province, authorities said Friday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led the operation in Talaban Proper, Mamburao town, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 235.67 grams of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu,” with an estimated street value of PhP1.6 million pesos.

Among those arrested were Frederick De Guzman, alleged maintainer of the drug den, and four others identified as Rizalina Insigne Panganiban, John Erold Calejo Tesalona, Reynaldo Inocencio Calejo, and Jhancen Tapales Morris.

A sixth suspect, Dindo Artillera Bersamina, managed to evade capture, according to PDEA officials.

The suspects face multiple charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, including drug possession, maintenance of a drug den, and use of illegal substances.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the country, a key policy of the current administration, PDEA MIMAROPA said.

PDEA added that they continue to work in coordination with other law enforcement agencies to target drug dens and disrupt distribution networks across the country.

PDEA has urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspected drug-related activities in their communities as part of the government’s anti-drug strategy.
