New Community Hospital Opens in Oriental Mindoro

Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro – In a significant boost to healthcare access in Oriental Mindoro, the new Bulalacao Community Hospital (BCH) was officially inaugurated on June 29, 2024.

The facility, located in Barangay Campasan, Bulalacao, Oriental Mindoro, marks a major milestone in the province’s efforts to improve medical services for its residents.

Governor Bonz Dolor and Mayor Ernilo Villas led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by Vice Governor Ejay Falcon, Provincial Administrator Dr. PAMD Hubbert Dolor, and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Cielo Angela Ante.

The event was also attended by Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital (OMPH) Chief of Hospital Dr. Dante Nuestro, Board Member Roland Ruga, and various department heads from the provincial capitol.

Dra. Josie Marca, the newly appointed Chief of Hospital, announced the hiring of 43 additional staff members to serve at the new facility.

Marca said the expansion of healthcare personnel is expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide quality medical care to the local community.

In a gesture of goodwill, Governor Dolor declared that all services at the hospital would be provided free of charge to patients.

The governor’s move aims to make healthcare more accessible to the residents of Bulalacao and surrounding areas.

Following the inauguration, a Health Caravan was organized by the Provincial Health Office, providing medical services to approximately 100 patients. This initiative underscores the immediate impact of the new hospital on the community’s healthcare needs.
