Cong. PA Umali Spearheads PFP-Liberal Party Alliance

In a major political development that is viewed as a prelude to the 2025 elections in Oriental Mindoro, Second District Congressman Alfonso “PA” Umali announced a groundbreaking alliance between the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and the Liberal Party during the first-ever General Assembly of their coalition.

“Sanib pwersa para sa Bagong Mindoro!” exclaimed Rep. Umali in a Facebook post.

He led the assembly as a representative of the Liberal Party, alongside PFP Party representatives Atty. Manny Buenaventura and his nephew, King Umali.

The assembly was also attended by former Vice Governor CA Jojo Perez, Board Member Pau Umali, mayors, vice mayors, council members, and barangay captains from various towns.

Notable attendees included Pinamalayan Mayor Aris Baldos, Vice Mayor Rodel Magsino, Mansalay Mayor Ferdinand Maliwanag, Bansud Mayor Ronnie Morada, Vice Mayor Rico Tolentino, Gloria Mayor Bitoy Rodegerio and Acting Mayor Rambo Alvarez, and Lumel “LG” Cabagay of Bulalacao.

Umali picked Cabagay over longtime ally, Mayor Ernilo Villas, who has consistently delivered 60% of the votes for Umali in previous polls.

The coalition’s objective is to create and implement programs and projects that will benefit every Mindoreño.

“Sama-samang magtutulungan para sa patuloy na pag-asenso ng Segunda Distrito,” Rep. Umali stated, emphasizing their collective effort towards the continuous progress of the Second District.
