In a significant development for healthcare in Oriental Mindoro, Governor Humerlito Dolor announced on June 6, 2024 via his FB page the upcoming inauguration of two new dialysis centers.
The first center is set to open this November at the Oriental Mindoro Central District Hospital in Pinamalayan, with the second scheduled for next year at the Oriental Mindoro South District Hospital in Roxas.
Governor Dolor’s Facebook post emphasized the government’s commitment to healthcare, stating, “Ngayong Nobyembre ay target nating mapasinayaan ang Dialysis sa Oriental Mindoro Central District Hospital (Pinamalayan) at sa susunod na taon naman ang Dialysis Center sa Oriental Mindoro South District Hospital (Roxas).”
He further asserted the right of every citizen to life-prolonging treatments, “Karapatan ng bawat mamamayang madugtungan ang kanilang buhay.”
The announcement follows the recent inauguration of the province’s first government-owned dialysis center, which opened its doors on November 27, 2023, coinciding with Governor Dolor’s 47th birthday.
The center’s opening marked a milestone in the province’s healthcare initiatives, providing much-needed services to patients with kidney ailments.
The establishment of these centers is a part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to enhance medical facilities and ensure that essential health services are accessible to all residents.
With the new dialysis centers, patients in Oriental Mindoro will have increased access to vital treatments, aligning with Governor Dolor’s vision of a healthcare system that serves the needs of its people.
The community eagerly anticipates the completion of these projects, which promise to improve the quality of life for many and fulfill the administration’s pledge to prioritize health and well-being for all its constituents. (source: Gov. Humerlito Dolor’s FB Page and ormindoro.gov.ph)
