San Jose Municipal Council Holds Inaugural Session in New Plenary Hall

The Municipal Council of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro on June 4, 2024 held their 22nd Regular Session in the newly constructed Plenary Hall of the Legislative Building, marking a significant milestone in the town’s legislative history.

The session was chaired by San Jose Vice Mayor Sonny V. Javier, and attended by the town’s councilors.

In a key announcement, Councilor Dr. Myrna G. Zapanta declared June as Dengue Prevention Month, urging residents to exercise caution against the disease, particularly during the rainy season.

She also emphasized the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness to prevent the spread of the disease.

In a poignant moment, Ms. Roselle C. Labindao, widow of the late Provincial Fire Chief of Occidental Mindoro, CInsp. Mario F. Labindao, accepted a resolution of condolence from the council.

Ms. Labindao thanked the council for their support and recognition of her late husband’s service.

In a move aimed at enhancing local governance, the Council ratified the establishment of the Peoples’ Council of San Jose.

This initiative, led by San Jose Mayor Rey Cajayon Ladaga, is expected to broaden the reach of the Local Government Unit’s (LGU) services across all sectors of the town.
