PDEA Arrests Rank 12 Provincial High-Value Target in Occidental Mindoro Buy-Bust Operation

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has apprehended the 12th-ranked Provincial Target Listed Personality and High-Value Target (HVT) following a successful buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

The suspect, identified as Alyas Lex, a 21-year-old resident of Brgy. Caminawit, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, was taken into custody on May 29, 2024.

At approximately 9:30PM, PDEA operatives, in collaboration with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Occidental Mindoro (PDEU) and the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit of San Jose MPS, conducted the operation.

The suspect allegedly violated Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, after posing as a buyer and purchasing a sachet of suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing 0.05 grams, valued at P500.

Authorities also seized buy-bust money from the suspect, along with four additional plastic sachets of suspected marijuana and three plastic sachets of suspected shabu, totaling P3,600.

The evidence was properly marked in front of witnesses before being submitted to the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.

Currently, the arrested suspect is in the custody of Occidental Mindoro PDEA for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges.

“This arrest is a result of intensified efforts to combat illegal drugs throughout the province of Occidental Mindoro. It reflects the strong collaboration and commitment of both citizens and law enforcement in maintaining a safe and peaceful community,” the provincial police command said

PCol Jun Dexter Danao, Provincial Director of the Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, said he will continue to lead the fight against drug-related crimes in Occidental Mindoro.
